NPT Digest: Not Lost in the Canadian Wilderness… Yet
NPTer’s have been asking whether I’ve been on safari, lost in the Canadian wilderness or otherwise taking a well-deserved break. I DO appreciate that ‘well-deserved’ suggestion.
But the answer is nope, nope and nope.
I’m still in Toronto until May 31st, when Ed and I will be heading out on our cross-Canada road trip. THAT will be the well-deserved break from packing up Ed’s house and too much partying into the wee hours.
While we’ve been packing, I’ve posted the following:
- Control Spam with this Simple Technique
- Aoccdrnig to rscheearch…
- Other Books are Like ‘Pulling Teeth’
- Underground Online Seminar - UK
- Bob’s ‘Back on Track’
- If I Can Do it…
- AffStat 2006 Report Available
Coming up next are “Time for the Power Pause”, “Amazing Clubs” and a follow-up on how Colin McDougall’s affiliate marketing efforts are working these days.
And who knows… I might include a pic or two from the Canadian wilderness too.
Cheers,
Ros

Rosalind! Do let me know if you’ll be in Montreal
Although I can’t say you’ll find wilderness here but definitely an urban jungle of cafes, patios and amazing restaurants!
Dinner would be on us here at Share Results.
Cheers, Susan
Hi Susan,
That’s so sweet and if we were heading that way, I’d definitely take you up on your offer. We’re heading directly back to BC however, no eastern detours… although a Montreal smoked meat would be a real treat. NUM!
Cheers,
Ros

Hey Ros,
You were getting’ my vibes with the Canadian wilderness e-mail – I am scheduled to go on a 20 something kilometer hike in the Canadian wilderness this week-end.
Going with my old co-workers from BC Hydro who are not impressed with “workin’ for the man”
The trek will be to Nikomen Lake in Manning Park – Up a mountain, down a mountain, and up another mountain to the alpine lake where there is still snow!
I did this hike once before and was a bit concerned when my fearless leader wasn’t sure where the trail was. I suggested stopping and setting up camp where we knew there was trail…
I will try to find the pics of me catching a trout (a very small trout) yet still a fish - Was it worth carrying my fishing gear on my back for that???? Probably not
BTW - If anybody is considering such a trek through the Canadian wilderness I recommend one of two things:
1. Be in really good physical condition
2. Charter a helicopter to drop you off
The later is my preferred method of exploring the Canadian back-country
Back to updating VEO now - I can’t wait to see your report on how I have been doing - Your mention of me comes with very pleasant surprise.
Hope you and Ed are having fun in TO!
Colin
Hey Colin,
Good to hear from you!
I just hope I won’t have to do another update that says “Colin’s sites are still doing great while Colin recuperates nicely in Vancouver General after his all-over encounter with a big patch of poison ivy”.
Wouldn’t canoeing/fishing on Vaseux Lake be more relaxing?
Aaah,,,, your trip sounds like good fun. But you forgot one thing… you want the helicopter to pick you up as well.
Have a blast and we’ll talk soon.
Cheers,
Ros

The Canadian wilderness sure is a nice place for a road trip… so nice in fact that we took our honeymoon there 7 years ago
Canmore, AB was one of our favorite places to stay…
Aaah yes, Canmore is indeed beautiful. I used to live in Cochrane, AB… very nearby.
Cheers,
Ros

Hi Rosalind!
Talking about Canadian wildernes…if you will be around Thunder Bay on your way west from TO…you can’t get more wild than here …on the Northern Shore of Lake Superior.
If you need to make a stop or just get a couple hours of rest with a beautiful view of Lake Superior….just email me. If that happens to be a weekend you could be for a special treat. No kidding… Vlodek
Hey Vlodek,
We will be doing the Northern Shore and depending on our time frame I’ll certainly keep your kind offer in mind!
Thanks!
Ros
