    MIVA Acquired by Adknowledge

Sign up and get $25 Bonus Pay Per Click Ad creditsI received the following announcement from MIVA Media on March 13th, announcing their acquisition by Adknowledge.

For those of you that don’t use MIVA pay per click advertising, or have heard that it’s a waste of time — read my comments at the end of the announcement…

    Dear Advertiser,

We are emailing today with important and exciting information regarding MIVA Media. As you may be aware, yesterday afternoon MIVA Media was acquired by performance-based ad network, Adknowledge, in an all cash transaction.

This transaction creates a major force in online advertising and comes at a time when an increasing number of advertisers are focusing their marketing spend on performance-based channels.

We believe that combining the resources and technology of MIVA Media and Adknowledge will create significant opportunities for both advertisers and publishers. Initially there will be no change in the way you plan and manage your MIVA campaigns, however work will immediately begin on integrating our teams and product offerings. Our objective is to create one, unified and best-of-breed online ad solution that can deliver the maximum value to your online business.

We will keep you posted as this exciting process progresses. In the meantime, we have included answers to some commonly asked questions below.

    Kind regards,
    MIVA Advertiser Support

I’ve used their service since it was Findwhat and one campaign that I run there gets about 350 clicks per day for around $13.00, or 3.7 cents per click. The campaign produces $100/day (on average) in revenue, or $87.00 pure profit.

    I’d say THAT’s worth it. :-)

MIVA definitely has (had) its place. It’s not a bad little network.

That’s great! What was the niche? :-)

Uuummm, that may be so but I have encountered instances where I know there’s some click fraud going on with Miva.

I have used Miva with mixed results. There are times when, I believe, some click fraud has taken place. But I’ve made some nice profits too. By and large, not a bad place to advertise especially since they don’t have draconian quality score rules as does Google. It can take quite a bit of time to get your ads approved though.

That is a pretty good return on your investment. I’ll have to check it out.
