How Do You Like NPT’s New Look?

So, what do you think of the new site design for Net Profits Today?

Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

I went to a 100% wide 3-column design because I read at OneStat.com that “the screen resolution 1024 x 768 has reached an all time high and has risen from 48.3 percent in June 2003 to 54.02 percent ” and I wanted to take advantage of the extra width.

The template looks right for those still using 800 x 600, because the header graphic is only 774 pixels wide. The background image just makes it look like it is as wide as the entire screen.

By the way, the header is a composite of a background from a BoxedArt.com template and my pic, morphed in Paint Shop Pro. Pretty easy to do, actually.

I still have work to do – in preparation for a new CMS (content management system) that I’m currently testing for implementation throughout the site. Can’t wait to share the experience with you as it looks like it might be the answer for those HTML-phobic newbie affiliates. :-)

I actually like this new look a lot. The colors work well with your picture. There are only a few minor bugs in Firefox, but nothing is a deal breaker.

      Nice job!

Very impressive make over from the previous version. It stands out and invites one into the world of NP!

Would like to discuss which WordPress Theme did you start with and any other modification tips.

      Best regards,
      MikeR

      Hi Mike,

I originally started with Kubrick (like all blogs do), then changed the header and CSS for my last 2-column design. This time I just added a column to the left, made a new header graphic and changed the css up again. Took a couple of hours. Uploading all the files (about 1500 of them) took a lot longer. :=/ Ergo, my wish to move to a complete CMS on this site. :-)

      Cheers, Ros

Red color is too bright compared to the content. Difficult to concentrate while reading. Good change!

      Uttam

Hi Uttam, Glad that you appreciate the change despite the difficulty with concentrating past the red header! :-)

      Hi Rosalind,

      What a fabulous design!

Clean look easy on the eye and your picture makes you look like 21 behind the header graphic.

Besides, red is my favorite color. :-)

I’ve been pondering with the idea of a three column blog but have not found a design I like to date. Maybe I’ll get my programmer to jazz mine up in the New Year.

I remember you changed your site design a while back after someone ripped your template off. Hope this new design doesn’t entice new copy cats!

      Best wishes,
      Nancy

Thanks Nancy… red is my favorite color too, but Iespecially appreciate that ‘21′ comment. LOL :-)

Hey Ros this is just wicked !! Love it love it love it. I recently have a revamp done on my blog, to make it look exactly like my site. AND I went 3 column as well !!! Not full resolution yet. I havent figured out that one yet. PHP isn’t my strong suit right yet. I am curious to see what you’ll do with cms though. Admittedly I am bit frightened to start messing with that at this point.

Love it Ros. However, as a graphic designer turned marketer and a perfectionist, I am bothered by the distortion of your picture. I know you look better than that ;) Send me an original (high res) photo of you and I’ll gladly send you back an improved header graphic. I’d also prefer the shade of red on your shirt and not the orangish red you used. But overall, great! Interested in your CMS solution.

      Hey Wayne,

Glad you like it… although I guess I am distorted – took that pic directly from the .tiff, but will send it to you regardless. And yes, I should modify to the darker red. :-)

      Cheers,
      Ros
