Fixing Wordpress Database Errors

Written by Rosalind Gardner

Have you ever seen an error like this show up on your Wordpress blog?

WordPress database error: [Can’t open file: ‘wp_comments.MYI’. (errno: 145)]
SELECT COUNT FROM wp_comments WHERE comment_approved = ‘0’

Well Steve Hetrick, the wizard from DataWordPro who manages my servers has the perfect solution…

Full Moon & candles,
magic times three
we summon the power
set database error free.

He says that the incantation works or that you can “just run the repair utility in Cpanel MySQL”. :-)

  1. Rosalind,

Believe me, I’ve tried different incantations, most of them having some very colorful language inserted, and the only thing that works is the repair. :)

  2. Hi Dewald,

So true. But it’s entirely worth saying the incantation for the smile it brings to your face. :-)

    Cheers,

Love this tip! Love the incantation as well… of course I would have to say something to that effect as I was pushing the little REPAIR button. lol.

It’s gonna help a lot of folks out to know this.. MYSELF included!!

It’s one of the reasons why I am still a faithful reader after all these years. I still learn something new every time the NPT comes out!!

    Thanks Ros!!
