I lost my job about 14 months ago and article marketing replaced my old income within 2 months. By the time I had found a new job I didn’t need one anymore. If you are not submitting articles, start right now.
I’ve submitted 6 articles to only 4 sites so far. I haven’t got a lot of traffic from them yet. But I do plan on writing more and submitting to more sites. Yes it does work, you just have to keep at it for a while.
Thanks for all the great tips Ros
If you’re marketing online you definitely need to be using article marketing in your marketing mix. If you don’t have the time to personally write the articles then outsource the job, but benefits like one way backlinks and being viewed as an authority in a particular niche are far to important and easily attainable by using article marketing. My only suggestion to you is if you’re going to delve into article marketing keep your content original and make it relevant. Potential customers will view your content and make their minds up based on the information found in your article.
Work smarter not harder and remain focused on your goals.

I have only started to write articles in the last month. EzineArticles accepted the first one, followed by 2 or 3 other places for that same one. I do see them “around” and that particular article ranks well for keywords.
A little early for me to tell re “traffic” but it gets your name out there.
Everyone advises it, and it sure doesn’t hurt.
If you don’t get a lot of direct traffic from a published article, you’ll certainly get more organic traffic from search engines, especially google. Publishing articles related to your area of interest should be if not daily but a weekly routine.
