2009 Affiliate Marketing Research Study
I just ran through the AffiliateBenchmarks affiliate marketing survey, and it’s a very well-constructed survey to determine current affiliate practices.
Affiliates who complete the survey will receive a free copy.

New York, NY (PRWEB) July 8, 2009 — AffiliateBenchmarks, a research division of outsourced affiliate management agency NETexponent, has released an affiliate marketing survey to be completed by affiliates and website publishers by July 31st 2009. The survey results will gather best practices for several aspects of affiliate marketing, including how best to communicate with affiliates, what advertisers can do to optimize affiliate relationships, what tools and information affiliates crave, and what challenges they face. Results will be analyzed and used to identify marketing trends and projected changes. Affiliates who complete the survey will receive a free copy of the results and others will have the option to buy a copy once released.

Thanks to the support of these major networks we have been able to optimize our study and significantly increase the number of respondents.
AffiliateBenchmarks produced their first study in 2008 and the research report was met with an extremely positive response from the online marketing community. The positive response from last years research report and continued need for industry benchmarks prompted AffiliateBenchmarks to produce the 2009 survey. This year the AffiliateBenchmarks survey has been significantly expanded and improved based on the knowledge and feedback from the industry leaders. I was particularly glad to see that the last question asked for opinions about the survey itself. By the way, do you think that pair of questions about the number of fulltime and parttime employees was meant to include ourselves if sole proprietors? I have difficulty thinking of myself as my ‘employee’ (slave to the business feels much more accurate!) – so I was curious how others are interpreting that.

I don’t at this point remember the question exactly, but I do recall having to read it twice to be sure that I provided the correct answer and that the question was worded clearly. However, I doubt being off by 1 employee will skew the final results too much.

Good point! I’m sure the survey’s coverage was sufficient to hide one person’s confusion. Surveys in general intrigue me, and I tend to get a bit critical over wording, choice construction, flow, privacy issues and the like. It was nice to have the opportunity to “sound off” on matters for a change.
Definitely a cool idea. Not just for affiliates but also for everyone using affiliates to sell their products. I have to say that I didn’t even know such a survey existed

I’m guessing this kind of survey is quite helpful in order to know the current trands in affiliate marketing. At least from the reaserch we might know some new and future changes.

Wow!!! Lots of valuable information. I’m new to Affiliate Marketing. I prefer Google AdSense though. It pays much more.
I tried affiliates but they weren’t very successful. Perhaps my pitch isn’t that affiliate friendly.

It is good to be an internet marketing consultant and to be in affiliate marketing programs. Some of them have a good purpose. You make a big effort and I want you to know that I appreciate it.
Affiliate marketing becomes more popular these days. You can do it as part time or full time from your home. It is giving us freedom from our boss. We can become our boss our self by doing affliate marketing.
One of the biggest reasons for the increase of affiliate marketing is because in these tough times people are seeking more and more desperate measures to pay the bills. Those who are lucky enough to still have jobs are wondering why they are slaving all week for a few bucks when they are bombarded by pictures of college kids making big bucks part time on the internet.

I hear you. I’ll never forget becoming the ‘deciding vote’ and having a lot of union brothers (yes, only brothers in ATC back at that time) cheesed at me simply because of a poorly worded question. Since then I’ve become very anal about how language is used… and you were right, that question caused a double-take, which they never should. Their loss.
