One of my clients, John Piteo, told me how he was getting traffic to one of his sites and making money from that site by distributing ghost written articles.
I found his story quite remarkable from the standpoint that although the article submissions were made years ago and he has done nothing else to the site, his income has actually increased over the years.

adCenter Affiliate Program to Close February 29, 2008
Hmmm… while scanning my Eudora for information about Microsoft’s adCenter affiliate program, I found this notice - sent February 20th - in the trash bin.
…Unfortunately, the adCenter offer will no longer be available after February 29th, 2008.
Any banner or text ads that you currently have placed and are receiving traffic will still be eligible for payout through February 29th. However, any traffic after this date will no longer be eligible for the coupon or commission payout. As of today, February 20th, no new marketing material will be available to current affiliates and new affiliates will not be able to sign up for the offer.
Final commission payout for any activity through the end of February will be processed and paid out in the month of March as usual. Please be sure to remove all marketing materials associated with this offer from placement by February 29th as you will no longer receive credit for this activity.
Although that’s definitely a bummer for affiliates who found adCenter’s offer lucrative (it offered $50 in free clicks to those who opened an adCenter account), I’m personally delighted to have found the notice before I ended up sending my visitors to a “Sorry, that offer is no longer valid” page, which happens way more often than I care to admit. 
Anyway, for those affiliates who promote to online marketers, there’s still the Yahoo! Search Marketing offer through CJ that pays $30 when your customer signs up for either a new Self Serve or Assisted Setup Account. They get a $25 credit on signup too.

Affmeter Pro Update
A new version of Affmeter Pro ( 2.00.11 ) has just been release with the integration of Onenetworkdirect.
Too, we had a couple of questions through the Support Desk about security concerns while using Affmeter that I wanted to address publicly.

Moonlighting on the Internet
As you might know, Yanik Silver’s first “real” published book, “Moonlighting on the Internet: 5 World-Class Experts Reveal Proven Ways to Make an Extra Paycheck Online Each Month” is now available in bookstores and online at places like amazon.com and bn.com
And I was honored to be chosen as one of Yanik’s expert co-authors on this project.

Just as I was talking about how some folks end up with bad info and end up spinning their wheels trying to build an online business, Derek Gehl has released a free 30-minute instructional video that gives you a complete “3-D” snapshot of the steps you absolutely must take in order to build a REAL money-making online business.

Spinning Your Wheels?
I often hear Internet marketers who are not making money online use the term ‘spinning my wheels‘ to describe how frustrated they are with what they’re doing… or NOT doing.
They report working on sites for 40 hours per week for over a year; or that they’ve started 5, 10 and sometimes 20 different sites - and still haven’t earned a pittance.
The term ‘spinning my wheels‘ is a very telling metaphor. Being from Canada, when I see someone really spinning their wheels, it tells me that the person doesn’t know how to drive for conditions… and I’ve seen it a thousand times.
The guy who guns the gas at the intersection and ends up standing still. Someone who takes a corner too fast and ends up wrecked in the ditch. The ill-informed who use ‘all-season’ radials (believing that they’re an acceptable substitute for winter tires) and wonder why they have no traction or control. Of course, there are the grannies who top out at 5k an hour… and blessed are they that stay home.
Sure… we all have to learn, but the uneducated get themselves needlessly into situations that risk their lives and the lives of others.
Granted, starting an online business without a proper education might not mean risking life and limb — but doing so could risk your life savings or ruin your marriage - and I do know a few to whom that has happened.
