Public Domain Niche Gold Mine is open…
As always, NPT readers are among the first to hear out about the latest Public Domain Goldmine(tm) NICHED volumes release from Yanik Silver and Michael Holland.
However, despite the early notice, less than half the volumes remain this morning after the small priority list got their notification yesterday.
Of 250 in each category originally made available, here’s what is left this morning:
- Health Volume II - 92
- Self-Help Volume II - 88
- Sports & Recreation Volume I - 176
- Multi-Niche Volume I - 152
These are complete PD sets that include keyword packs, Google AdSense profit potential analysis, back-end revenue streams for affiliates, jv contacts, and suggested "copy nuggets".
Michael and Yanik do nearly everything for you in advance - including the market research, competitive analysis, keyword analysis, locating back-end affiliate revenue sources, finding potential joint venture partners, clearing the copyrights, etc.
Included in the bonus section are website and sales letter templates, a CD audio about traffic generation, a tutorial about accepting online payments and more.
Volumes 1 through 9 *ALL* SOLD-OUT right away.
And now that the packs are broken down into subject-focused niches that are significantly less to get started with, I expect they’ll sell out even faster.
If this is the first time you’ve heard about Yanik and Michael’s public domain works, (or public domain as a subject) and/or you’ve been looking for pre-written content to sell or post on your site as spider bait (just 2 of many possible uses for public domain content), you need to check this out now.
Public Domain Goldmine(tm) NICHE
NOTE: Check out the site even if you DON’T plan to buy today — there’s a good lesson right in the middle of the page discussing 11 ways to use public domain content.

Holiday Greetings: Justin Makes a Great Point
Sure… we all appreciate our clients and customers and want to send them our very best wishes for a happy holiday season.
But SHOULD we send those greetings as a separate email? Or, are our SinterKlaas, Christmas, Hanukkah and New Years greetings better received as an inclusion within a regular newsletter?
Justin Premick posted a great article on this topic at Aweber, titled “Holiday Marketing Tip: Don’t Send Pointless Greetings!”
Although the title reveals Justin’s slant and the article justifies his reasoning, I want to add a few thoughts of my own on the matter.
One of the commenters on the Aweber blog made a good point against sending denominational greetings because not everyone on your list will celebrate Christmas. That should be SO obvious, yet how many “Merry Christmas” emails did you get last year?
In a similar vein, email marketers should also make themselves aware of when certain holidays are celebrated in countries.
Case in point.
I received an Inbox full of “Happy Thanksgiving” emails on or about the 4th Thursday of November. That would have been nice except for the fact that I live in Canada and we celebrate Thanksgiving on the 2nd Monday in October… so those greetings came about 6 weeks late.
Those marketers need to figure out how to parse their lists geographically and send their messages accordingly.
For more reasons not to send pointless holiday greetings, read Justin’s article here and check out the comments.

Credit Card Scam Warning
I received this via email from an NPT reader and include it here as a warning about a credit card scam that seems to be getting more and more prevalent. I can confirm that these do exist, as a friend of mine was on the wrong end of such a call about 6 months ago.
Fortunately, she didn’t give out her information and did call the police.
This has been confirmed as legitimate so please take note this details are directly from the person this happened to at KCC.
This one is pretty slick since they provide Y O U with all the information, except the one piece they want. Note, the callers do not ask for your card number; they already have it. This information is worth reading. By understanding how the VISA & MasterCard Telephone Credit Card Scam works, you’ll be better prepared to protect yourself.

Internet Marketing Lesson in a Hat
To celebrate my birthday (December 11th), Ed and I took a quick trip down to Leavenworth, Washington.
When we arrived, the streets were jam-packed with tourists and locals there for the Christmas Lighting Festival being held later in the day. As it was darned cold and somewhat windy, we took frequent advantage of what Ed called the ‘people warmers‘ which were placed at strategic intervals along Main Street. Whenever we stopped at one, we engaged in polite chat with others who were also crowding around the heaters.
However, despite the warmth, my ears were at risk of freezing and falling off, because I’d forgotten my hat at home. So, it was off to “The Hat Shop”, where I picked up the little red gem shown in the picture above left.
Well, so much for ‘polite chat’!
All of a sudden, we were talking with almost everyone we passed. Little kids stared and pointed; while adults smiled, laughed and called out ‘love the hat!’ and ‘where’d you get it?’. Of course, there was immediate bonding with the many others who were also wearing weird and wonderful hats.
Just as my hat set me apart from the crowd and made others more inclined to stop and talk, you need to do the same with your Internet business and website.
In other words, your site has to be unique, or as I like to call it, YOU-nique. And the best (and easiest) way to do that is just to be yourself.
For example, any reader who has read one or more of my articles or posts here at NPT will ‘get’ who I am and what I’m about because of my writing style. And that style is all me because I write just like I talk — straight-up and direct. One of the nicest compliments I ever received was from a regular NPT reader whom I met at a conference. He said ‘even if I hadn’t seen you, I would have known it was you, just by listening to you talk!‘ Awesome… that’s exactly what you want to hear!
So, if you spend time agonizing about how to write everything ‘just perfectly’… relax. Speak it. Tell it to a friend. Then write it down just as you would say it. By doing that exercise, you will come through in your writing, and your readers will connect with the real you which is the person they really want to know.
If you want to speak and write at the same time, check out Dragon NaturallySpeaking. I’m on my third edition of the software, and the latest version (9) is a vast improvement over earlier editions. Although you still have to ‘train’ the software to recognize to your voice and it’s nuances, much less training is involved with version 9. I bought it originally when I was having trouble typing because of the pain in my wrists (brought on by too much typing), but kept using even after they got better.
My question to you is… how much time does it take you to write your average blog post or article. Do you find it fun & easy or more like pulling teeth — and why?

SAH Club is Down
We recently discovered that the whole SAH Club database has been corrupted which explains why you may have had trouble accessing the club recently.
Most member’s email addresses were somehow changed to the same variable, making it impossible for us to contact our members to come back and change their passwords, which were also changed.
Aargh.
To make matters worse, the only backup available contains the same errors.
We’re still trying to get to the bottom of how and why this happened and will be rebuilding the database slowly — by hand — which seems to be our only option at this point.
I do apologize and please bear with us. Until the database has been rebuilt, please contact Joel through the Support Desk if you need to download another copy of the Super Affiliate Handbook.
NOTE: As all members already have the latest update, please contact Joel only if your computer crashed or your dog ate your one and only copy of the Handbook.
Thanks!

Dell Loves Me Again…
Back on October 26th, I wrote a blog entry titled Dell Affiliate Program: They Love Me, They Love Me NOT detailing the trouble I had getting re-signed up for their program.
Well, the problem was eventually resolved, which is a good thing, ’cause I never stopped lovin’ my Dell and do want to promote their computers. (You can hear me wax poetic about it in my home office video.)
So, if you are looking for a new computer this Christmas, Dell is running two excellent offers on both their desktops and laptops beginning today through 12/13/2007 6:00 AM CT or after 10,000 coupon redemptions (whichever occurs first).
- Save $350 on all Inspiron™ Desktop purchases over $999 (before tax, fees, shipping & handling)- Coupon Code: MGWST$K5DF$?CJ
- Save $300 on all Inspiron™ notebook purchases over $1199 (before tax, fees, shipping & handling)- Coupon Code: ZDWPS9CZT37LLB
My recommendation: Get the best computer that you can afford. I’ve always bought top of the line with the result that they keep chugging along forever without a hitch. My computer guy, Ori, tells me that my Dell computer is the best of all those that he looks at… and the only reason he comes by to see it… is when I mess things up!
Restrictions: Offer may not be combinable with mail in rebates, dollars off, percentages, or select other promotions. One offer may be applied per cart at checkout. Coupon code expires after first 10,000 redemptions or earlier if offer is terminated earlier. The Home & Home Office site and offers contained herein valid only for end users and not for resellers and/or online auctions. Offers subject to change, not combinable with all other offers. Taxes, shipping, handling and other fees apply. U.S. Dell Home and Home Office new purchases only. Purchase limit of 5 systems per order, but coupon discount applies to only 1 system per cart. Limit of 5 systems per customer please. Dell reserves the right to cancel orders arising from pricing or other errors.

Choose Your Affiliate Business Model Wisely
OK… I’m awake now.
After spending the weekend in Vegas at Anik Singal’s 2-day PPC Classroom LIVE seminar which included a few late nights as well as a few travel challenges and delays — I was totally wasted.
Maybe I’m getting too old to try and keep up with ‘kids’ like Anik who are half my age.
Or, perhaps I’ve been spoiled by my 2-hour work day which allows for plenty of exercise, nutrition breaks and rest.
Actually, the term ’spoiled’ is incorrect.
Working less to live more was always my goal — a goal that took only a couple years to achieve with affiliate marketing — the why’s and how-to’s of which I talked about during my presentation.
That topic resonated deeply with both attendees and speakers, many of whom I spoke with afterwards.
Their comments included “you have the BEST business model“, “I’m SO tired of the rat race, that’s EXACTLY how I want to work!” and “guess I should have bought your book“.
Well, yaaaaa!
After about 50 such comments, I realized that I haven’t emphasized the point strongly enough here at NPT - the issue being that you choose a lifestyle when you choose your affiliate business model.
To rectify my oversight, I’ve posted an article titled “Choose Your Affiliate Marketing Model Wisely“. It accurately describes the difference between lifestyles of a PPC search marketer and my (more relaxed) way of doing business as an affiliate.
Read it.
It could help you avoid choosing a business model that requires you to work 8, 10 or 12 hours a day just to keep up… and boy, doesn’t that sound like a J.O.B.?
Moreover, I want to hear you say the same thing that Andy Huang said to me this weekend with a BIG smile on his face…
“Your book changed my life”.
Comments like that are the reason I have kept the Super Affiliate Handbook updated for the last 4 and a half years and will continue to revise it.
Not only do I want you to succeed in business, I want you to have time to enjoy your life.
And now I’d like share some fun.
So, check out the Lightbulb Joke Contest: Win a Copy of “Insider Secrets To Marketing Your Business On The Internet”.
Too, I’ve uploaded the conference pictures for your amusement.
And last but not least, the bear still needs a name.
Until next time, work smarter… not harder.
