Friendfinder Affiliates Can Win a Ferrari!

Here’s a juicy little tidbit I picked up from Friendfinder this week for dating site affiliates.

The top 10 signup increase by GID will be receiving amazing prizes, including our Grand Top Growth Prize - a Ferrari! From August 1 through October 31 only, beat your average of the past 3 months, and qualify! Your 3 month average will be calculated from the signups of Cams.com, Adult FriendFinder, ALT.com, FriendFinder, and OutPersonals. Who wouldn’t want to be driving down the highway in a Ferrari as a reward for hard work?”

How’s THAT for incentive?

Cheers,

Ros Gardner is ‘Cruel and Unfair’

OK, I don’t usually respond to these things, but I thought this was funny - in a bizarre kind of way.

I am apparently ‘cruel and unfair’ according to the following response to my “More on the Adwords Update… Don’t Believe Everything You Read” blog entry.

If you haven’t read the entry, I talk about an affiliate marketer who posted a bunch of fluff (about Google’s latest whack on affiliates) that could have lead new or uninformed affiliate marketers up the garden path.

Not once did I mention his name.

Yet, he learned about the post, then posted a response in his blog that linked back to mine. (OK, that was the bizarre part… and THANKS for the plug!!! :-))

Hi Rosalind,

I was reading (name removed)’s latest blog entry which showed your criticism of him.

I think it is very cruel and unfair what you have done and written about him as I know first hand he is a very successful affiliate and is a very down to earth guy (I meet him at the World Internet Summit this year). I can only say good things about him as he has helped me out with my affiliate programs and always has time for me.

I think, if you are going to criticize him you should do it on his blog and give him a fair right of reply.

Anyway, I don’t want to harp on but I think you should consider what you have written as he is a very nice young man.

Jamie

This was Joel’s reply:

Hello Jamie,

On behalf of Rosalind, thank you for your feedback about Rosalind’s “Don’t Believe Everything You Read’ blog entry.

I’ll definitely pass along your concern.

I suspect the article sounds a little harsh, but the main point was that if you are posting information about how Google is handling their ranking, and billing yourself as ‘the essential guide’, then you better be as correct as possible with your information.

Rosalind’s point was that it is content and relevance that wins results, both from Google and more importantly, for your qualified customers.

She never named (name removed), nor did she include a link to his blog… so essentially it was an anonymous ‘pot shot’.

You may be right that it would have been good for Rosalind to check in on (name removed)’s blog and present her point of view there within his own forum.

Rosalind was responding to her readers (who’ve had many concerns about Google’s recent adjustment) with her consistent message that content and relevance to the topic at hand win the search engine ranking hands down, especially over the long run.

Apparently (name removed) isn’t shy about returning a shot.

I see he links to Rosalind’s article, and puts her success down due to a lower ranking then his in the Clickbank Marketplace.

In fact I’d wager Rosalind’s status, in terms of profitability and professionalism, with both her peers and a majority of her ’students’ remains quite ‘Super’.

One thing I believe both (name removed) and Rosalind would agree on is his comment: “Personally I believe being a super affiliate is about getting results and being able to help other people achieve success too.”

I know Rosalind ‘lives’ that, and I suspect (name removed) is truly committed to that goal too.

Again thank you for your comments. I will pass them along to Rosalind. I’m sure it’s more mole hill than mountain in the grand scheme of things. :)

Kind regards,
Joel Bolton
Executive Asst. to Rosalind Gardner

Joel obviously ‘got it’ - the point that is.

My comment was never about the other marketer. I didn’t use his name or point to his blog because I didn’t want to waste YOUR time.

I used the erroneous information posted on his site as a way of driving home two points:

  • Don’t follow blindly. Do your homework, and;
  • The homework lesson isn’t all that hard if you just go with Google’s requirement to produce relevant and useful content for your visitors. I suspect many affiliate managers would prefer to see their products promoted likewise.

Here’s another point.

The fact that someone is a “very nice young man” (or woman) doesn’t make them smart or knowledgeable… and I’m sick and tired of all the charming, nice, personable and what-have-you-people who try to schmooze you out of your hard-earned bucks on crap information.

Yes, I’m just SO cruel and SO unfair. :-D

Ros

P.S. Thanks Joel!!! I certainly wouldn’t have responded as nicely as you always do! :-)

UK Underground - Last Minute Update

Sorry for the late notice - but I thought you’d want to know about a special teleconference happening this Thursday, August 10th at 3 PM, Eastern.

You’ve heard the ‘buzz’ about Yanik Silver’s previously sold-out Underground events.

Now he’s bringing the “Underground” to the UK with an *ALL NEW* line-up of real-world successes from the UK & Europe.

He’s uncovered a group of under-the-radar six-figure… seven- figure… and even 8-figure earners for the Underground Online Marketing Seminar UK.

On Thursday, he’ll be holding 3 of the “Rogue Agents” hostage for a LIVE interrogation session.

Don’t miss this call if you want to hear the “under-the-radar” secrets these 3 elusive Internet successes use to quietly make fortunes online … and no, they don’t sell “how to make money online” products.

The lines can only hold 300 people so if you want in - please register immediately for this top-secret audio transmission. (Last time Yanik had 387 disappointed people who were locked out.)

Rest assured, even though Yanik is not charging admission for this call - it won’t be a pitch.

Yanik is going to mercilessly grill and interrogate these 3 “rogue agents” to reveal some of their jealously- guarded secrets.

Don’t miss it!

Go now and reserve your slot for the call.

Cheers,

Ros

P.S. As I write this, there are only 48 seats remaining for the upcoming Underground UK event in September. But the price goes up August 15 and the final bonuses go away!

Hit by Google Adwords Increases? Try Enhance Interactive.

I know many of you have been hit with outrageous pay per click charges at Google Adwords over the last couple of weeks.

And “outrageous” is putting it mildly. Who can afford $5.00 to $10.00 per click?

If you are losing traffic, sales and income due to Google’s latest changes, and don’t have the time, energy or inclination to make substantial changes to your site in the immediate future, and are already using Yahoo! Search Marketing, MSN and MIVA; considering adding Enhance Interactive to your advertising arsenal.

Never heard of them?

Well, Enhance gets 3 billion searches per month and therefore probably more than a few in your niche or niches!

Moreover, they give personalized service and the minimum bid is a measly 3 cents per click!

You can either build your own PPC campaign or their staff will create an ad for you and provide a list of suggested keywords. The latter option involves a fee of approximately $100.

Here’s what BizRate has to say about the effectiveness of the Enhance Interactive service.

“Enhance Interactive sends BizRate.com quality traffic. Over the past six months, the average conversion from Enhance Interactive traffic is nearly 10% greater than similar alternative search engines.”

Ten percent is HUGE!

My recommendation - sign up with Enhance Interactive to get back on track and/or start dollar-cost-averaging those clicks!

468x60 PPC Banner

Better yet, for a limited time, Enhance Interactive is offering $25 in Free Pay-Per-Click Advertising.

Happy PPC’ing!

Cheers,
Ros

P.S. You ARE advertising with Yahoo! too aren’t you?

Yahoo! Sponsored Search lists your business on top sites like Yahoo!, AltaVista and CNN, AND they TOO are offering a $25 credit when you sign up!

NPT Digest: A Cure for Email Addicts and Other Stuff

I don’t know where I’d be if not for my handy-dandy FeedReader.

Probably still checking my email every 5 - 10 minutes a day like Jim Edwards - the confessed email addict - used to do.

I wonder if he too was getting carpal tunnel syndrome from hitting the spam delete button 3,000 times a day? :-)

Jim had help to cure his addiction by using a nifty piece of FREE software that lets you block programs you select for specified periods of time.

Eliminate temptation by eliminating access.

Great idea!

I’ve reprinted Jim’s article “Online Temptation Blocker” that includes a link to the software that he uses.

Just in case you’re not yet using a feed or news reader, here are the entries that have been posted to the NPT blog since the last NPT newsletter, “I’m Affiliating with this Merchant…NOT!“.

OK, now it’s time to go and block my FeedReader. :-)

Cheers,

Ros
