Searching the Clickbank Marketplace Made Easy... Finally!

Have you ever tried to hunt and peck your way around Clickbank in search of digital books or software to sell as a CB affiliate?

If you have, you know it's always been a hassle.

Categorization was scant with only top and second-level categories through which to drill down.

For example, the Home & Family top-level category shows the following categories in its second tier:

Cooking & Recipies
Kids
Garden
Parenting
Crafts
Students & School
Pets
Marriage
Family Tree
New Products
Home Improvement
Real Estate

But they're not even arranged alphabetically!

Then, when you get to the second tier, you are left with nothing but a product's popularity within the CB marketplace by which to search.

The good news is that Clickbank has recently put a Marketplace search function in place, which allows you to search by keyword.

Hurray!

You can sort the returns by:

Gravity: Number of distinct affiliates who earned a commission by referring a paying customer to the publisher's products. This is a weighted sum and not an actual total. For each affiliate paid in the last 8 weeks we add an amount between 0.1 and 1.0 to the total. The more recent the last referral, the higher the value added.
$Earned/Sale: Average net amount earned per affiliate per referred sale. Note that this is the net earned per actual sale, and so it is impacted by refunds, chargebacks, and sales taxes. (Effective 28 July 2005, unfunded sales, such as returned checks, do not impact this number.)
%Earned/Sale: Average percentage commission earned per affiliate per referred sale. This number should only vary if the publisher has changed their payout percentage over time.
%Referred: Fraction of publisher's total sales that are referred by affiliates.
Commission % - Self-explanatory.

You can choose to display 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 returns per page.

The screen capture below shows results for a search for 'wedding' sorted by $earned/sale.

Please note that this new search function is still in BETA.

While this new functionality is a vast improvement over hunting and pecking through various categories, ie. NO search form at all, the results displayed by a nifty new tool that I discovered and purchased the other day are better still.

CBNicheBuilder goes one (two-three-four-and-five) BETTER than Clickbank's new search functionality.

Here is a screen capture of the results generated when I repeated the search for 'wedding' using CBNicheBuilder:

Once again, "Personal Wedding Websites" came to the top of the search results. Looking across the tablek, you immediately see that you can earn $29.43 per sale, that the commission rate is 35 percent and that the percent referred is 2%.

A scan down the table columns allows you to quickly compare the variables.

Moreover, CBNicheBuilder allows you refine your search further.

For example, you can elect to display only those products where a majority of the sales are generated by affiliates, and sort by the amount referred.

In that case, "Wedding Planner Tips" wins first prize with 100% referred by affiliates, commission rate of 75% and $17.98 earned for each sale.

As with Clickbank, you can click through and see each website from the interface.

Once you create a list of products that meets all your specifications, CBNicheBuilder lets you generate and build webpages around those products WITH your Clickbank affiliate ID encoded in each of those links.

You may also elect to have all your Clickbank product affiliate links open in a new window so visitors remain on your site while checking out the offer.
