Today's NPT is a tribute to Corey Rudl.

Our Internet marketing family was shocked and saddened to the core last Friday with the news that Corey died in a tragic racing car accident at the California Speedway on June 2nd, 2005.

Corey Rudl was the original Internet marketing superstar and beloved mentor to most of today's highly successful Internet marketers.

I personally will be forever grateful for his part in my Internet business success.

Fortunately, I had the honor and privilege of being able to thank Corey in person for his help only a few short weeks before he died.

From messages I've received since news of his passing was reported, I know many of you regret not having had the opportunity to do likewise.

Corey Rudl - A Legacy of Sharing and Caring

Corey Rudl.

Anyone who has spent a day or more looking for Internet Marketing information knows his name.

Sadly, those who never met him in person will never get that opportunity, as Corey died in a tragic car racing accident on June 2nd, 2005.

Corey was a true legend on the 'Net. He was the founder and President of the Internet Marketing Center, and an internationally renowned author, speaker and Netrepreneur.

Corey's IMC Course, "The Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet", was one of the first comprehensive courses ever written about Internet Marketing.

"Insiders Secrets" was the first Internet Marketing course that I bought, and I still recall the day in November 1998 when it arrived on my doorstep.

Although I had been marketing on the Internet as an affiliate for almost a year and my business was producing a good income, I eagerly ripped the package open and poured over the material for the next few days.

Inside the two big "Insiders Secrets" binders was all the information (and much, much MORE!) that I had been learning by trial and error.

Reading "The Insider Secrets to Marketing Your Business on the Internet" confirmed what I was doing right, clarified what I needed to do more, and what I need to start doing.

In other words, "Insiders Secrets" became my Internet Marketing 'bible'.

Until I received the updated 2004 version, that copy of "Insider Secrets" held a place of honor on a bookshelf above my desk. The new 2005 version also holds a place of honor - bookended by all of Corey's other information products (Accelerated Internet Wealth Series, Ultimate Seminar Videos, E-mail Marketing eBook, Mr. H Interviews) - on a new bookshelf, in a new office, in a beautiful new house.

I certainly wouldn't be in this 'beautiful new house' today without Corey's help, which is why you'll see his name listed first in the Super Affiliate Handbook's "Acknowledgements".

Without Corey, I wouldn't have written the "Super Affiliate Handbook".

In a nutshell, after interviewing me and profiling my affiliate marketing business on his "Secrets to Their Success" site, I got a boatload of email from people interested in affiliate marketing.

When the volume increased to the point where I couldn't answer each one individually, I built a site for webmasters, and published what eventually became this weekly ezine, the "Net Profits Today" newsletter.

Yet, still MORE email with questions about Internet marketing arrived every day.

Well, I only have to be hit in the head with a brick a few times before I finally 'get it'.

Without saying as much, those enthusiastic aspiring affiliate marketers were telling me that they needed a comprehensive guide to affiliate marketing (much as I'd found in Corey's "Insiders Secrets"), so I finally gathered both my senses and notes and wrote the book.

It boggles my mind to think of how many lives have been changed for the better because Corey published my interview on his "Secrets to Their Success" site, which in turn resulted in the "Super Affiliate Handbook".

First and foremost are those readers who put the SAH (Super Affiliate Handbook) plan into action and have since become successful affiliate marketers themselves.

They and their families benefit from more income and a better lifestyle, and in cases like my own, enjoy improved health when they ditch their jobs and bosses.

Then there's the trickle-down effect. More money in their pockets puts more money into their communities, as they buy new homes, cars, furniture and toys. The wider community also reaps the rewards when they pay their taxes and travel the world.

As their businesses grow, they may hire staff, which creates still more direct and indirect economic benefits.

To think of how much good Corey did for so many people is both heart-warming and mind-blowing.

In fact, MOST of today's successful Internet marketers attribute some measure of their success to Corey's educational efforts.

So, how did Corey Rudl come to have such a positive influence on SO many people?

Well, he began with his PASSION for cars and racing.

After seeing the question "Where can I buy Ferrari decals?" repeatedly posted on discussion boards, he sourced Ferrari decals and offered them to Ferrari car owners.

Recognizing the need, he worked to fill it.

Corey also became frustrated by the fact that so many car enthusiasts were spending way too much time and money building kit cars. Corey helped them by sharing his 14 years of kit car experience in the "Kit Car Book".

He also helped people save money on car buying, leasing and insurance in another book called "Car Secrets Revealed".

As he tells it, "the offline advertising campaign for 'Car Secrets Revealed' barely broke even. But on the Internet, sales took off, and in the first 12 months alone, I sold 10,000 copies and made over $140,000 in net profit".

Through his success on the Internet, he then saw the need for good information about Internet marketing and filled that too when he started the "Internet Marketing Center" in 1996.

Hundreds of thousands of Internet businesses, both large and small, have become successful by tapping into Corey's Internet Marketing knowledge and expertise.

Corey's "Internet Marketing Center" now generates upwards of 8 million dollars in sales per year, and supports 75 staff members and their families.

Corey's work touched and improved the lives of literally MILLIONS of people.

What an astounding legacy for a man who lived to be only 34 years old!

The central lesson that I learned from Corey, is that success starts with caring and sharing.

Caring enough about those who share your passions and interests, and openly sharing with them all that you know.

The process works because it comes first from the heart and is focused on helping others.

Take that approach and the money WILL follow. Much more rewarding however, are the riches of spirit gained by helping others improve their lives.

It's a brilliant lesson, and one of the most important when taken to heart.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you again for everything, Corey.

You are missed and will be fondly remembered forever.
