Are You Rich?
Are you rich? (... and I do mean in financial terms).
If not, why not?
Have you ever asked yourself that question?
If not, and if you really WANT to be rich, then it's time you did! You'll probably discover that the "obstacle" in your path is no obstacle at all.
So, do it right now. Ask yourself the question "Why am I not rich?" and write your answer down.
Did you write down your reason(s) for not being rich?
Great!
Now let's look at some of the common reasons folks give for not being rich.
** They may claim that they either don't want to be rich or that money is evil.
** Others say that they're not smart or talented enough, and haven't figured out how to get there.
** Still others are waiting for something to happen, ie. to have more time or the 'right opportunity", to marry Mr. or Ms. Right, or for their rich Aunt Betty to leave them a big inheritance.
** Some believe that they're 'destined' to remain poor.
Is your excuse... um, 'reason'... on that list?
If so, here are some suggestions to help shift your perspective.
Did you answer that you didn't really want to be rich?
Say what? Do you really enjoy living from paycheck to paycheck, or worrying about how much higher the price of gas will go? Don't you want to give your family a better life?
Chances are good that you really DO want to be rich... and the first step to solving an issue is to admit you've got one.
C'mon... 'fess up now! :-)
Do you think money is evil? Think again. Money is paper that doesn't 'do' anything until someone does something with it. Think instead of all the good you can do for others when you have money.
Personally, I think the biggest blessing that comes from having financial wealth is the ability to lighten the load for others.
Imagine how good it will feel to give your son or daughter a brand-new car as a graduation gift. Won't it give you peace to know that they weren't driving a dangerous clunker?
Now imagine having enough money to donate large sums to your favorite charity(ies) and enable them to do good work.
Feels really, REALLY good, doesn't it?
Nothing evil there, so, banish the thought.
Did you reply that you're not talented or smart enough to be rich?
Give yourself a break.
Henry van Dyke said "Use what talents you possess; the woods would be very silent if no birds sang there except those that sang best."
Exactly. There are very few Einstein's out there. Most of the rich people I know are just ordinary folks like you and me, many of whom didn't go to college. The qualities they had in abundance were desire and persistence.
So, forget talent. Learn what you need to know, then put your knowledge to use.
If you're waiting for 'something to happen', ie. the right time, opportunity, partner or an inheritance; you may wait a LONG time, and it may never happen.
Don't wait. MAKE your life happen.
Lastly, if you think you are destined to remain poor - you're right - you will.
I picked up a great tip from Rebecca Fine while hearing her speak at Yanik Silver's Underground Seminar in Washington, D.C. She told us that unless you WANT what you are thinking to happen in the next 3 minutes... bar the thought!
That's right. Just get rid of it.
Create your destiny by thinking about what you DO want.
Visualize a richer future for yourself. Give those thoughts substance. Where would you live? What would your house be like? What car would you drive? What sorts of hobbies and fun things would you pursue? See, feel, touch and Embrace your vision!
Don't hold yourself back with excuses.
LIFT yourself to a richer future by focusing NOT on what's wrong - but by being grateful for what's right and good in your life... right now.
THAT's how you get rich.
