    Ros' Rants and Raves

A number of NPC subscribers have recently told me that they
are disappointed that I'm no longer writing my 'feature
    articles
    '.

Some are also upset by the price of some of the courses I
    recommend.

If you are among those, rest assured that I plan to share
lots of great information in the coming months
    . Sometimes
I'll write an article, other times the information will come
in the form of a long rant (or rave) that comes from my
daily experience as an Internet and affiliate marketer.

I'll still tell you about educational opportunities such as
teleseminars and conferences. They'll usually  be those in
which I'm directly involved as a presenter or a faculty
member. That means I've reviewed the curriculum and think
the information is important to you as an Internet or
    affiliate marketer.

As for course costs... the NPC is delivered to people with a
wide range of abilities, means, and experience levels. I
always do my best to acknowledge that spectrum by suggesting
a number of different learning options.

In today's NPC, you'll read an email from someone whose
plight many of you will appreciate and understand from
    first-hand experience.

I've included Joel's very well-written response to his
question. I couldn't have said it any better myself.

If you haven't heard me mention Joel before, he's my
'virtual assistant' - and that's a line of work I will
also discuss in an upcoming NPC.

I also have a favor to ask of you....

Then next week I'll be looking at how you can prepare for
    success in 2005.

    Learn and prosper!

    Cheers,
    Rosalind

    Frustration!

    Hi Rosalind,

Hope I'm not intruding but have just read the info on
Ultimate Success Coach and interested in taking it further.

Problem is as a two month veteran on the Internet I don't
know if I can take another hit. I feel like I've been 10
rounds with Mike Tyson and I'm really thinking about staying
    on the  canvas.

Thousands of dollars later and I'm still on the starting
    line!

This is what I want to do and I need  serious coaching.

I live in Sydney,  Australia and I am a Journalist by trade.
I currently work as a Television  Anchor so I do have a good
standing within my community. Making a living  from home
really appeals to me, so much so, I'm prepared to give away
a  career most people would give "an arm and a leg for"...

Thanks for listening and to your continued success.

    Best Regards,
    Dean Caporella

    Hello Dean,

I understand your strong desire to change directions
to an online career. Spending thousands so early
on is a tough way to start.

There are no instant riches on the Internet (no matter
what some of the unscrupulous internet marketers say).

Whether it is embarking on joint ventures, setting up
affiliate program websites, or marketing your own product
or service online, it takes time, persistence, focus,
and yes, at least a small amount of cash (relative to
setting up a brick and mortar business) to build a
    business online.

That's not to say it can't be done in your situation.
And yes, there definitely is cash to be made online.
In fact, Rosalind began part-time at first, and is the
real deal in going from zero to a six figure income
    online.

In your situation you have to invest your few
dollars very carefully, and build it slowly over time.

It may take weeks or months until you start bringing
in your first dollars. It is obviously very wise to begin
part-time. But if you are committed, those online commissions
will likely start coming in. Here are a few other suggestions
as to how you may want to approach an online affiliate
    business.

    I've outlined a 'nutshell' of Rosalind's strategies,
which of course are presented in a much clearer and
detailed way in the Super Affiliate Handbook. My best
advice is to read it through end-to-end... maybe even
more than once so you grasp all the concepts of
    affiliate marketing.

First, I'd suggest you focus on what you want to do on
the Web... specifically what knowledge, expertise, or
skill you are particularly good at and could share in
some interesting or unique way with others online.

What product, service, specialty, or information can
you promote/recommend that will benefit your
'customer'? If you don't have a specific service or
product in mind that you want to 'sell', there are
tons of affiliate programs you can find online (such
as Commission Junction, and Rosalind presents others
in her ebook). Some will undoubtedly relate to your
    special interest.

Become an 'expert' in that area... learn all you can
and bring valuable information to your potential web
visitors and they'll come back. Also search engines
will give you better ranking if your web content is
truly useful and detailed information about your
    subject.

Be sure that the affiliate products or services you
include on your site ALL relate to the topic of the
site. Keep the focus narrow and very specific (as an
example, fitness is too generic; but a site about
men's fitness equipment would be much more on
target, or even more narrow... low impact fitness
equipment for men.) I'm sure you catch the drift.

Learn about pay-per-click sites. They are one of
Rosalind's primary strategies for promoting her
affiliate websites. Read-up on the FAQ's and tutorials
at Overture and FindWhat. You don't have to invest a
big amount to get going, and if you are careful in
your keyword bidding you can keep your budget small to
start. Try your keywords... see how they do. Tweak
page descriptions and the keywords if the results
aren't as good as you hope.  Expand to as many as you
can think up that your 'customers' might type in... as
your budget allows. Keep building on that, keep
improving your site, and be attentive to the feedback
    your customers give you.

Another critical strategy is to build an opt-in
mailing list of your customers and stay in contact and
keep providing useful info to them. Consider writing a
newsletter as the inducement to get them to sign-up,
and to tell them about other beneficial products you
    offer.

Do these strategies above and you'll be well on your
way. If you don't want to hassle with learning how to
build an online store, one possibility that Rosalind
favors is the SBI site. It's the best all-in-one site
building tool available, in Rosalind's opinion.

    Site Build iT!

If you already have a website together, and have applied
the approach in the Handbook, then you may be at the
point where you could benefit additionally from a telephone
consultation with Rosalind. More information about
    her consultations is available at:

    Favor to Ask

My mom, Martyna, turns 90 today - November 16th.

I was thinking that it would be great fun if she received a ton 'o greetings from all over the world. I know she would be absolutely thrilled.

As such, if you have a moment to spare, and want to put a smile on Mom's face, please drop her at line at the address below and mention where you are from.

    mom@rosalinds.com

That address will be workable until the 19th.

A little about Mom - she's originally from Holland (where we still have a whole heap of family), lived in England for 5 years, then emigrated to Canada, where she currently lives.

She worked as a nurse until she was almost 70, and enjoys gardening, mystery novels, following politics and watching Judge Judy... OK, so everyone has their problems. :-))

She still lives in her own home, walks everyday and is sharp as a tack. We should all be so fortunate.

Thank you SO much for helping me make Mom's special day even more special!
